Norman R. Farnsworth Lecture

Every year we remember our distinguished faculty member Norman R. Farnsworth with a lecture series in his honor. We are excited to, once again, welcome a world renowned speaker to our college.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Otto Sticher. Dr. Sticher studied pharmacy and did his doctorate at the Pharmaceutical Institute of ETH Zurich. After two years as a manager of a pharmacy he became a postdoc under Professor Hans Schmid at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Zurich. He was later appointed associate professor and then full professor of pharmacognosy at ETH Zurich. Professor Sticher was taught at both ETH and the University of Zurich. His research focused on isolation, structure elucidation and biological screening of natural products from medicinal plants and cyanobacteria as well as quality control of crude drugs and phytopharmaceuticals.
The title of Dr. Sticher's lecture is “Tales of humans, plants and molecules.”
