College Naplex Scores Exceed National Average
According to the most recent data available, the UIC College of Pharmacy's pass rate for the North American Pharmacy Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) has exceeded the national average. The NAPLEX measures a candidate’s knowledge of the practice of pharmacy. It is just one component of the licensure process and is used by the boards of pharmacy as part of their assessment of a candidate’s competence to practice as a pharmacist. The test is administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
The national average for the NAPLEX is 90.22%, the UIC pass rate is 94.44%. Not only is the UIC pass rate better than the national average, it exceeds the average for colleges of pharmacy in the state of Illinois as well. The Illinois pass rate, while still above average at 90.49%, is still well below the UIC pass rate.
"We're very proud of all of our graduates," said Dean Jerry Bauman, "as well as all of our instructors. Without them and their dedication to training the next generation of pharmacy professionals, we couldn't be in this situation."
Congratulations on this monumental achievement!
