Wellness and Resiliency Resources

Throughout its history, the College has been committed to wellness and resiliency. Learning, wellness and resiliency are paramount to the success of faculty, students and staff and are core values of the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy. Through programming from various College units, students, faculty and staff are provided with a wide range of topics and presentations relevant to promoting and heightening their sense of understanding and belonging in the College, understanding that differences and similarities should be respected and celebrated.

Both the Chicago and Rockford campuses provide many of the services needed to support wellness and resiliency for students, faculty and staff. These services include wellness centers, counseling services, financial aid counseling, healthcare, and disability accommodations to name a few. The Current Students website provides detailed information to PharmD students about mentoring, tutoring, academic success, health and wellness resources, financial resources, and career development. The University provides similar virtual resources for our faculty, staff and graduate students.

For Students

The Pharmacy Office of Student Affairs (OSA) designs and delivers wellness initiatives that promote students’ personal, academic, and professional development. The Chicago-based OSA works in close partnership with its Rockford campus counterpart, operating as a unified team to ensure consistent support for all students.  Students at the UIC Health Sciences Campus in Rockford have access to a variety of health services, including on-site counseling and mental health care. Those on the Chicago campus benefit from an array of healthcare and wellness offerings provided through campus resources.

For Faculty and Staff

Staff and Faculty are encouraged to take advantage of Campus offerings, join professional organizations, attend conferences, and pursue CE credit to maintain certifications. The college posts a list of professional development offerings by administrative function on the Intranet.
