Volunteer Opportunities with UIC Pharmacy
Our alumni and friends support our current students by graciously giving back their time and talents to our college. Volunteering is a way to connect the past to the present, and a way for current pharmacy leaders to influence the next generation.
A few ways to get involved:
- Become a Preceptor and help students gain real-world experience in your practice.
- Be a Judge at the college’s annual Research Day event. Contact Dr. Lindsey McQuade for more information.
- Be an Admissions Interviewer and interview prospective applicants to the college. Contact Pharmacy Student Affairs to sign up.
- Be an Alumni Coater for the College’s annual White Coat Ceremony. Contact Pharmacy Student Affairs to sign up.
- Post a Job Opportunity for a current student or recent graduate of the College, or have your company participate in a UIC Pharmacy Career Fair.
- Learn about the College’s Advancement Board. Contact Derrick Collins to learn more, or fill out this form to share other ideas or inquiries about how to get involved.
Nominate your colleagues and classmates for Alumni Awards
The following awards are presented each year at Alumni Reunion to our distinguished alumni. Alumni Awards nominations can be submitted here. Awardees must be able to attend Pharmacy Alumni Reunion in person to accept the award.
Rising Star Award
Recognizes young alumni who have already distinguished themselves in their professional achievements and have earned their first pharmacy degree within the last 10 years from the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy.
Jesse Stewart Service Award
This award, named in honor of a former faculty member, recognizes a person who has been generous in their service to the profession, the community and/or the College. The honoree does not need to be an alumnus of the College but the winner must be present to receive the award. Open to alumni, faculty and friends of the College.
Alumnus of the Year
One of the highest honors given to a College alumnus by the Retzky College of Pharmacy, the award recognizes distinguished careers in pharmacy, service to the profession, and loyalty to the College. Recipient must have a distinguished career (administrator, author, business, educator, practice, research, etc.) and be a leader/innovator in the profession contributed to the profession.
