COP Foreign Language Survey

We are proud of our students and their diverse backgrounds. One way we highlight our diversity is in terms of languages spoken. Each year the ODI publishes the College Foreign Language Survey which showcases the various foreign languages spoken by our student population. This survey not only serves as a draw for prospective employers but also serves as a tool for the experiential faculty coordinators and faculty members with clinical outreach programs that are conducted in languages, other than English.

Interpersonal Communication Workshop

A continuing priority is the professional development of our students.  We periodicaly meet with course coordinators, faculty and students to determine what types of programs may be useful. The Interpesonal communication workshop was developed to offer our non-native speaking students the opportunity to practice their speaking, presentation, and interaction skills in a supportive small group environment.

Student Leadership Series

In collaboration with OSA, and Pharmacy Student Council, the College holds workshops across both campuses with a focus on leadership skill building.

Scholarships & Awards

Every year the College awards 97 scholarships to its current students. Scholarships range from academic performance, interests and focus of research/volunteer work, as well as heritage and background. This year, the ODI worked to increase the overall UHP scholarship applicant pool. As a result 12% of scholarships were awarded to URM students.

Student Travel Award

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion offers a travel grant award up to the amount of $750. The travel grant is awarded to one Pharmacy student from either Chicago or Rockford to help cover the costs of the selected student’s attendance at an approved professional conference. The travel grant may be applied to travel, lodging, and conference registration fees.

The 2017-2018 application period has closed. Applications for the 2018-2019 academic year will open in October 2018.
