Scholarships for New Students
The UIC College of Pharmacy offers many scholarship opportunities for new students. These scholarships are applied to tuition. For more information about these scholarship opportunities, please contact the College of Pharmacy, Office of Student Affairs, at email@example.com.
Fall 2019 Scholarship Applicants
For students applying for Fall 2019 admission, the scholarship application essay will be included on the PharmCAS application.
Priority Scholarship Application Deadline: January 4, 2019
To be eligible for this priority scholarship consideration, students should complete and submit the PharmCAS application by Jan. 4, 2019 and also should schedule and complete the PharmD interview by Feb. 1, 2019.
Initial Scholarship Notification: February 11-15, 2019
Students who apply for scholarships after the priority scholarship application deadline will be notified after March 1, 2019 and will be notified on an ongoing basis throughout the admission cycle as scholarships become available.
College of Pharmacy Tuition Scholarships
To augment the geographic diversity of the student body, the College of Pharmacy offers tuition scholarships for out-of-state students who are committed to completing the PharmD degree at UIC. The scholarship gives high-achieving and talented out-of-state students the opportunity to pay an alternate tuition rate equal to the in-state tuition rate.
All out-of-state applicants who apply through the Early Decision admission process as well as any out-of-state regular admission applicants who complete and submit the PharmCAS application by Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and who interview and are offered admission prior to October 19, 2018 will be granted the College of Pharmacy Tuition Scholarship. International students are not eligible for in-state tuition at the Chicago campus.
There may be a limited number of College of Pharmacy Tuition Scholarships awarded for Chicago out-of-state applicants who apply during the regular admissions cycle and interview and are offered admission after October 19, 2018.
The College of Pharmacy Tuition Scholarship is granted to all out-of-state applicants including international students who are offered admission throughout the application cycle.
College of Pharmacy Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarships
The Academic Excellence Awards Program is designed to attract and secure admission of Doctor of Pharmacy students with outstanding academic credentials and professional preparedness.
College of Pharmacy Opportunity Scholarships
The College of Pharmacy values the benefits of a diverse student body. Diversity enriches the academic experience by providing an opportunity to explore different world views, philosophies, and cultural approaches to pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical sciences. To continue to develop and energize our diverse student body, the College of Pharmacy offers a limited number of scholarships based on criteria such as leadership experiences, unique personal abilities or talents, health care related experiences, racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, geographic and/or intellectual diversity, perspective in overcoming obstacles to academic success or others.
Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs Scholarships
Jack and Victoria Strandhoy Scholarship
To be eligible for this $1000 scholarship, the recipients may have high financial need, may demonstrate high academic achievement, or may be a member of an underrepresented group. The scholarship shall be awarded to incoming P1 students and shall be renewed until they earn their PharmD degree if they remain in good academic standing. The recipients shall be part of a group called the “Strandhoy Scholars.”
DuBow Family Foundation Scholarships
To be eligible for this $6000 scholarship, the recipient(s) will need a PCAT score in the 90th percentile (or higher) or a pre-pharmacy GPA of no less than 3.5 on a 4 point scale. This scholarship is open to anyone and the recipients will be referred to as the DuBow Scholars. As a recipient of this scholarship, UIC College of Pharmacy will expect you to represent the program in a professional and respectful manner.
College of Pharmacy RPHARM and UPHARM Concentration Scholarships
Scholarships are available for students who demonstrate an interest in serving underserved rural populations and who desire to be a part of the RPHARM Concentration.
