Resources for Finding Research Funding
Pivot/COS. The Pivot COS database is one of the most comprehensive databases available and has over 40,000 private, federal and international funding opportunities. Users can conduct searches for funding opportunities, and UIC faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students can create accounts to save searches and receive funding alerts. You will need to use Pivot on campus or create an account for off-campus access.
Pivot/COS Tutorials. Pivot's tutorials are very short and user friendly. You can choose to use the Quick Start Guide or YouTube tutorials that can be found on the link above. You will need to use your UIC email address when creating your Pivot account.
OVCR. The OVCR site contains links to internal UIC funding opportunities as well as limited funding opportunities and external funding search resources.
OSSP. The Office of Special Scholarships Programs site contains links to external funding opportunites and search engines.
Funding Opportunities for Graduate Students
Download here a searchable spreadsheet of ~100 regular funding opportunities for graduate students. This list contains both internal (UIC) funding opportunities and external funding tailored for COP graduate students. Some opportunities are also relevant to PharmD students. The list will be updated annually so the dates will be accurate to the last year's deadline - make sure to visit the website links in the file to confirm the exact date of application (many deadlines are the same/similar year to year, so this list will provide you with approximate times for various application deadlines).
CCTS Pre-doctoral Education for Clinical and Translational Scientists (PECTS) Program.

UIC Graduate College Fellowships Deadlines. This website lists UIC fellowships and other awards administered through the Graduate College. Since departments need to submit nominations to the Graduate College (wherever it states "department nominations due") students should consult with their programs to determine by when documents must be submitted to the program.

Download here a searchable spreadsheet of ~75 regular funding opportunities for postdocs. This list contains external funding tailored for COP postdocs or senrior graduate students looking ahead. Some opportunities are also relevant to those with MD/DDS degrees. The list will be updated annually so the dates will be accurate to the last year's deadline - make sure to visit the website links in the file to confirm the exact date of application (many deadlines are the same/similar year to year, so this list will provide you with approximate times for various application deadlines).

Funding Opportunities for Faculty Members
Download here a searchable spreadsheet of 50 general funding opportunities (not disease- or topic-specific) for faculty members. This list contains both internal (UIC) funding opportunities and external funding; opportunities for junior faculty members are highlighted under a separate tab. Although the list might not be regularly updated, most of the funding opportunities are released annualy and this list will provide you with expected times for various application deadlines.
Limited Competitions. This is a list of funding opportunities where sponsor limits number of applications submitted by an institution. This website provides instructions for internal UIC competition.
Stanford Univeristy. The Stanford University Calendar of Funding Opportunities catalogues biomedical and bioscience funding opportunities, primarily for faculty and assistant professors with PI eligibility.
