Dr. Judy Bolton on the Role of Botanical Supplements in Women's Health
Dr. Judy Bolton, professor and head of the UIC Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, recently spoke to Chemical & Engineering News about her research into the use of botanical supplements in the treatment of menopause symptoms and cancer prevention. "One of the advantages of botanical extracts is they are polypharmacological, having multiple compounds hitting a variety of biological pathways. Preferably they do so in a good way, which increases resilience in women’s health."
