Research Centers

Located in the heart of Chicago, the UIC College of Pharmacy is dedicated to training researchers who will contribute to the understanding of disease states and develop new therapies through multidisciplinary and translational methods. Consistently ranked in the top seven for NIH funding among US pharmacy schools, the College focuses on areas of drug discovery through synthetic chemistry and natural sources, pharmaceutical biotechnology, drug delivery, molecular pharmacology and genetics, and therapeutic outcomes in oncology, infectious diseases, women's health, and CNS disorders. The College is also investing in the areas of proteomics, personalized medicine, and pharmacogenomics.

More than 50 tenure track faculty and over 100 research and clinical faculty members conduct research and provide training to nearly 150 graduate students and postdoctoral trainees, as well as over 650 professional students. Departments in the College of Pharmacy are organized around four major areas of the pharmaceutical sciences:
