Vahlteich Research Award
For Early Career, Tenure Track Faculty in the College of Pharmacy
The Vahlteich Award has been used to support research by early career faculty members in the College of Pharmacy via competitive internal grants of up to $50,000. These grants encourage preliminary studies and innovative research and lead to the development of continuing research programs. Former Vahlteich recipients continue to succeed, with 90% of Scholars securing NIH grants among other sources of their funding.
The Vahlteich Research Awards are funded by the Hans and Ella McCollum Vahlteich Endowment Fund. Hans earned his Graduate in Pharmacy (PhG) and Pharmaceutical Chemist (PhC) degrees from the College in 1917 and 1918, and Ella earned her PhD from Columbia University. To date, the award has provided over 1.5 million dollars for research.
