Established as the Chicago College of Pharmacy in 1859, the UIC College of Pharmacy is one of the oldest colleges of pharmacy in the United States, and the oldest college in the University of Illinois system. We offer the largest and most comprehensive pharmacy program in the Nation, with seven college-run ambulatory pharmacies and over 200 clinical faculty.

In addition to our clinical strengths, we are known for our groundbreaking research: the college is ranked #7 in the Nation for total federal research funding. We have some of the world’s best scientists and researchers working on drug discovery and development, cancer, infectious diseases, women’s health, pharmacoepidemiology and community health outcomes, personalized medicine, and more.

We are one of the seven health sciences colleges in the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System (UI Health), UIC’s academic health enterprise, which offers abundant interprofessional education and interdisciplinary research opportunities to students, clinicians, and researchers.

We are proud to be ranked the #1 college of pharmacy in Illinois and a #15  in the nation, with one of the most diverse student bodies in the country.
