Dr. Nutescu appointed Head of Department of Pharmacy Practice
The UIC College of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the appointment of Edith A. Nutescu, PharmD ’94, MS CTS, FCCP, as Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Nutescu is an internationally known expert in cardiovascular thrombosis, and safety and comparative effectiveness of antithrombotic agents. The recent recipient of the ACCP Russell R. Miller Award for significant contributions to the literature of clinical pharmacy, Edith Nutescu is a well-funded researcher, author of over 180 scientific articles, as well as a noted leader in the profession.
She had previously served the college as a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, practiced as a clinical pharmacist in the Antithrombosis Center, and in a variety of clinical managerial positions. Dean Schumock noted that, “Dr. Nutescu has a track record of excellence in all aspects of the Department’s mission, and is clearly well-qualified for this position. I believe she will be an extraordinary leader for the Department of Pharmacy Practice.”
