Ajna Hamidovic, PharmD, MS develops novel pharmacological treatments for smoking cessation and evaluates neurophysiologic biomarkers for various substance use disorders. Dr. Hamidovic's Clinical and Experimental Drug Addiction Research (CEDAR) lab evaluates drug cravings, EEG recordings and acoustic startle processing, as well as tests memory, eating behavior, stress reactivity and metabolic processing.
In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Hamidovic is an experienced teacher. She has taught Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy in didactic and experiential settings. Topics include Major Depression Disorder, Anxiety, Addiction, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.
Dr. Hamidovic has practiced Geriatric Psychiatry Pharmacotherapy in an interdisciplinary team setting. Among other activities, she has advised her team on antipsychotic adverse event prevention and management as well as pharmacokinetic-based lithium dosing.
