Travel Award

UIC College of Pharmacy’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion offers a student travel grant award. The travel grant can be  awarded to students from either the Chicago or Rockford campus to help defray students’  cost to attend an approved professional conference. Preference is typically given to students who are presenting a paper at national meetings whose research presentation demonstrates  cultural competency in an inter-professional  setting.

“Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to attend Midyear with the Diversity and Inclusion Travel Award! I was able to talk to all the programs I needed to and attend valuable student programming. It was truly a worthwhile experience for professional development and networking. Midyear provided me the opportunity to gain insight on various residency programs and gave me the chance network with pharmacists from all over the country.”

“It is truly an honor to be selected as a 2019 UIC COP Diversity and Inclusion award recipient. This award gave me the opportunity to take part in the 2019 ASHP Midyear Conference in Las Vegas which compliments my professional growth and success. As a recipient of this award, I serve as a representation of an underrepresented group. My dedication and commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion in the field of pharmacy is a continuous journey.”
