Summer Series – Vivian Kadus

Vivian Kadus

Our Summer Series highlights student pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists who are doing summer internships or fellowships.

Vivian Kadus, rising P3, recently started a position as a Medical Information Intern at Novo Nordisk.

“The student chapter of DIA at UIC and members of the executive board were what really helped me find my current internship,” says Vivian. The Drug Information Association (DIA) at UIC College of Pharmacy is a local chapter of DIA Global, which strives to foster innovation to improve health and well-being. “The monthly DIA newsletter is where I found the majority of the internships I applied for, and the other members suggested companies for me to look at and possible people to reach out to. I spent many hours and applied to numerous internships. It was a long process, but overall I feel that it was worth it because I am extremely happy to be working with the medical information team with a disease state I am very passionate about.”

Vivian is enjoying her time as a Medical Information Intern at Novo Nordisk. “My experience has been quite spectacular. Before starting, I heard a lot about Novo Nordisk's amazing company culture, and although my internship is virtual I have been able to experience the culture firsthand.” Similar to many other students, Vivian’s internship is virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that hasn’t made the experience less impactful for her. “Everyone has been extremely generous with their time and they are always willing to help when asked. I am currently working with the Medical Information team specifically with the insulin and biopharm products. I have been working on updating clinical portfolios, other medical information content, and learning more about the variety of products Novo Nordisk supports.”
