Research Interests

Dr. Shapiro’s areas of interest include anticoagulation in a variety of settings, including venous thromboembolism, stroke prevention for atrial fibrillation, and pregnancy.

Teaching Interests

Anticoagulation pharmacology, osteoarthritis, lupus, home diagnostics tests Coordinator, and instructor, International Pharmacy Student Experience, for international students, primarily from Taiwan and southeast Asia (25 in 2013, 42 in 2014, 49 in 2015, 52 in 2016).

Clinical Experience

Since 1997 her practice site is the Antithrombosis Clinic at the University of Illinois Outpatient Care Center, where she currently serves as Operations Coordinator and Clinical Pharmacist.
