Overview:
Dr. Ali, Pharm.D., BCACP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and a Clinical Pharmacist within University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UIC in 2011. She completed a postgraduate year one residency at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana followed by a postgraduate year two residency in ambulatory care/education at Purdue University and the Richard L. Roudebush Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Indiana. She is experienced in developing and sustaining ambulatory clinical pharmacy services in internal medicine clinics within Novant Health and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Since starting at UIC in June 2020 Dr. Ali provides quality patient centered within the Medication Therapy Management Clinic and is currently developing clinical pharmacy services in the Multispecialty Adult Clinic. She also serves as a course coordinator for PHAR 501 (Self Care) and as a preceptor for advanced and introductory practice experiences in ambulatory care. She also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy residents.

– Chronic Disease Statement Management (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smoking cessation, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

– Cultural Competence and Cultural Sensitivity
– Social Determinants of Health
Teaching Statement:
Since graduating from UIC, Dr. Ali has taught in 15 didactic courses in various healthcare curricula (PharmD, PA, Nursing, and DPT). She has precepted more than 98 PharmD students and 8 pharmacy residents. She has also precepted multiple 2nd and 3rd year medical residents on an elective pharmacotherapy rotation. She has educated pharmacy and medical students locally and globally. She is experienced in coordinating courses within the pharmacy curriculum (3) and is currently coordinating PHAR 501: Self Care course at UIC. She has provided continuing education lectures and/or presentations at local and regional levels.
